As other reviews have posted this is the full primary or first series of Ashtanga yoga, which gets progressive harder as you go through the series. There is no fluffy wording, no distracting background or other people, just a Master Teacher doing a fantastic job. David's delivery of the basic principles is clear and down-to-earth. Yoga for Beginners with Kino MacGregor: Pages with related products. David Swenson is an amazing source of information and his asana practice is out of this world.

He tells you with every move whether you should be breathing in or breathing out, so it is easy to get back on track. Excellent for a morning warmup. The spiral-bound format is useful for practioners.

The Modification Section is invaluable and must be watched first, along with the Dacid. Of course I had to purchase his book as I practice Ashtanga yoga, he is my teacher's teacher, and I was fortunate enough to be David's model for a few poses. This was the first Ashtanga book I read that offered attainable variations to postures. I'll have to look more closely. I highly recommend this for beginner and advanced ashtanga folks.
